I`ve read the newsletter and I`m wondering is there any hard disc shematics on the net. I`ve tried to flex a little my Seagate ST31720A but it didn`t work. The "engine" isn`t working at all. 1. RE: Newsletter lbyard Jul-17-01 03:03 PM In response to message 0
I don’t know where you can find hard disk drive schematics. Manufacturers usually will not provide them to protect trade secrets. Another possibility is to purchase an identical drive (new or used) and swap the printed circuit boards. First, be sure you have the tool needed to remove the screws used to mount the board. The screws can be very difficult to remove without stripping the heads. I would also review Mueller’s Upgrading and Repairing PCs before proceeding. Most libraries should have a copy. There are many editions. Larry
