gibberish on picture cd

My cdrom will show file names on a disk containing jpegs & mpegs. I normally open this with Explorer, but lately when I try to view the pictures, I get garbage (code?). The mpegs work fine with media player. It's worked ok until recently, and has been used very little. I uninstalled Norton, because it has interferred with other applications in the past. Other disks work fine. Any idea's? Thanks all & Happy Holidays.

Sounds like the files are not associated correctly. Try setting the associations again.
