>How important is this as I plan on a dual boot W98 & WXP set-up?
In my opinion (and obviously?), very important to be sure the drive and drive software is compatible before the purchase. The last ones I bought did not come with software that was XP compatible. That caused customer problems until the software was updated.

>My main interest in a burner is for drive image back-ups using Norton's Ghost which comes with the Epox 266A board.
If you are backing up just one drive, a second drive would be a lot faster and the media is free. I donít know how good Ghost will work with CD-RW drives. Iíd check on it first. There are backup programs designed for CD-RW drives. Larry
