Error messages in 98SE device mgr.

Recently I have installed a Mitsumi 24x10x40 CD-burner and it works fine. According to the burner manual from Pine Corp.(the supplier of the Mitsumi burner) , there shouldn't be any error! messages stated in the Win98Se device mgr.listing for my existing CD-rom which is also A Mitsumi 3210!SX. That ! is not to be listed in it's description, indicating a problem. I have removed the cd-rom from device mgr. several times but it comes back to haunt me. Now it just states cd-rom in device mgr., go figure. What is the proper way to install that cd-rom? Thanx, Weber
