With a 20GB disc and WINME OS I want to create a "C" drive for the OS and "D" and "E" for remainder. Question is how much of the existing "C" should I partition for the operating system? Thnaks. 1. RE: Partition aMaster Hard Disk lbyard Feb-22-02 01:06 AM In response to message 0
I am running Me on a 30 gig drive. The C: drive is 4 gig and I occasionally have to clean it up. I don't use a lot of applications--Office and a few others, mainly graphics. I would say that 5 or 6 gigs would be better for many users with a 5,400 RPM drive. Anything bigger would take quite some time to defrag. I would say 8-10 gigs would be appropriate on a 7,200 RPM drive. Gamers and hobbyists may need a larger C: drive. Of course, I do have a file server and three computers in my office/shop. Larry
