Liteon CD-Rom Drive acting screwy

I recently gave my mother my old pentium computer and she installed a free AOL trial. Now when she tries to play an audio cd instead of auto-playing, it launches AOL. Am I crazy, or is this a really bizarre occurance? Any ideas? Before AOL was installed, the drive worked fine. Even when pushing the start button, AOL launches. The drive is quite old, but why would it launch AOL? I am totally stupified and would appreciate any advice!
