scsi cd-rom aspi manager??????

hi, i'm trying to install a pioneer scsi cd-rom on a p3 450, asus p3v4x motherboard. the scsi card is a diamond fireport 40. i got the generic drivers (only ones available) from pioneers website and read the readme. i tried to set it up from dos like it said, but i get an error message that says "aspi manager not configured/installed" so i guess i have to do that first, but i don't know what it is. could someone plz explain this to me???

sorry bout the double post, my browser crashed on the first try. the os is win98se.
