Lost E partion:

First time poster. If I am in wrong area, let me know where to go.
I have lost my E drive.
It doesn’t show up anywhere that I check. This is what comes up when go to systems information.
Windows-managed swap file on drive C (2742MB free)
Available space on drive C: 2742MB of 4759MB (FAT32)
Available space on drive D: 4568MB of 4752MB (FAT32)
I have a Pentium 233 running win98Se and a 15MB hard drive which I particationed into 3 C-D-E.

Should that 15 Mb not be 15 Gb?
As for some reason a drive could dissapear only when it got corrupted, or when a CD-Rom drive was added or "moved" from its Driveletter.
Also a "Partition Magic" program can couse such dissapearences.
See and set if not in c:\config.sys:
Lastdrive=z
Directly after that, boot into safe mode.
Go to Control panel, Systen, Device manager, and delete ALL double items that are present in the device listing.
Also it could not hurt you to delete items which are surely no (longer) present in your system.
If an item is found twice ore more, Delete ALL of these items.
Restart, and Windows will redetect your hardware and hopefully brings the missing drive back online.
If not, check if you once used some sort of Partition magic program.
Restart that and see if you can "Unhide" your last partition.

It is 15Gb. I am useing win98Se. I hit run/MSCONFIG and nothing comes into the config file. it is blank. How do I find it?

For the Hardware, you can find it by starting up in safe mode.
Once started, rightclick on "My computer" , Select "Properties", Then a screen wil open with several TABs on top.
Click on "DeviceManager" ("Apparaatbeheer", 2nd left tab in Dutch)
Cick in the "+" sign to open the topics.
There you will find the related devices.
For the Software, If you are sure that you never used some sort of Partitionmagic program, do'nt search any longer to that.
For the Lastdrive, Simply rightclick on the file c:\config.sys and open it with Notepad.
Then you can verify and set if neccecairly the Lastdrive=Z line.
