I have just bought a Philips CD-RW controller. When I use as a CD-RW medium as a CD-R medium is has the full 650 Mb capacity. When I want to use it as a CD-RW medium (e.g. formatted with Direct CD) it shows and has only a capacity of 559 Mb. What happens with the remaining 91 Mb? Can one get full capacity and how?
Many thanks for a good hint,

It's used for the formatting info. All drives have a smaller formatted capacity than the raw, unformatted capacity. Larry

Hi Larry,
Thanks for your rapid answer. 91Mb out of 650Mb represents 14% formatting information. For CD-R formatting space is also required but much less (~3%). Jean-Francois
