I have a computer that was hung in Windows 98, let me reboot and kept hanging, I Formatted the hard drive and reinstalled.Then, my office 2000 and antivirus programs would not work, I kept getting a message that stated the applications had to be installed first, but all the files had been installed.
Then different error messages kept arising, so, I replaced the hard drive and now that one is doing it too, every now and then I even get a error message that says that HIMEM could not load and that their may be faulty XMS memory in a certain module - any idea, I am ready to pull my hair out.
