boot question

I have a computer that does not have a floppy drive.( it uses host floppy when needed) I want to do a clean install on this machine. Is there a way I can copy the contents of a boot disk to hard drive and still boot to so I can get cd rom drivers in to install O.S.? I have other partitions on the hard drive that am not going to format just back up the registry for the programs on them so I can restore after clean install is done. Oh and this computer will not boot to cd tried it several times . dont know if it is a bios bug or the cdrom doesnt support it.

The Windows CD may be bootable. To find out, go into the motherboard CMOS Setup and set it so the CD-ROM drive is the first boot drive. cant boot to cd on this computer. dont know why wether it is a bios bug or the cdrom wont support but have tried that in the past.....

how about if i format c:/sys
then i can boot to a c :prompt right? if i have the win 98 cd on another partiton i could just:
e:\win98\setup.exe
would this work?

ok. I see there is a marketpro expo nearby this weekend. I will go there and grab a floppy. Need a few other things anyhow. There are not any good local shops around here. I usually buy online because of this. got my Baybus yesterday. now I just need to find the time to work on it.
