David, boot.ini exists in Windows 2000 as it does in NT4. Location... Windows 2000 and NT: C:\ Windows Me: nowhere To see the file in the Windows Explorer, set Tools, Folder Options, to show hidden files and folders and uncheck Hide protected operating system files. I guess msdos.sys in Windows 9x, and Me could be considered to be somewhat like boot.ini. It is also found at C:\ You can read about it at http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q118/5/79.ASP. Larry
