I'm using a computer that I just built with windows Me installed. Everything was working fine and then I got an exception error and had to reboot. Ever since then I keep getting little popups saying that .dll files are causing conflicts and I can't get into windows or internet explorer without the computer freezing up. And also those errors keep popping up sometimes in windows sometimes a blue screen for just about everything. I have to restart the computer almost as soon as I turn it on and it is really getting annoying. If you have any advice could you please post a reply? Thanks alot. 2. What's in the computer? The more detail you provide the better. Please start with the make model of the motherboard and the CPU. It is more than likely a hardware problem. Larry 3. RE: Windows ME exception errors and freezing Winnskier Aug-15-01 03:17 PM In response to message 2
At first I thought I had bad memory, but I did some experimenting and I found that just about every directory in windows was corrupt in some way or another and I couldn't fix them through scandisk so I just reformatted the drive. It took a little while to reinstall everything but it works. So problem solved. Thanks for your help. 4. As a precaution, I would run a virus scan and scandisk with a surface scan. Larry
