My friend has passed his machine to me to sort out! It gets as far as starting windows, the desktop appears, and then it just locks.I have started it in safe mode, used scandisk, antivirus, registry checker etc and can't find any problems, so I suggested that I simply reinstall windows for him. Problem is he doesn't have a boot disk, so I'm not really sure how to go about this.
Can anybody advise please?
