I have Win98SE and use the backup, but only to floppy disks. The backup is version 4.10.1397. I now have a CD burner and want to back up to this CD. The CD-RW is a Samsun Model SW-408 (Pacific Digital). I have formatted the disks but a message says that the CD is "write protected" and to remove the write protection or insert another media. Help! It would have to be formatted for use as regular disk drive. Id don’t know how well msbackup will work with CD-RW drives. Check the software that came with the drive, if any, for, perhaps, and better program to do it with. One of my customers uses this: http://www.ntibackupnow.com/. Some CD-RW drives come with an abbreviated version of the software. Larry 2. RE: MSBACKUP Laurila Dec-06-01 05:45 PM In response to message 1
I just read an article in PC World page 200 of the December 2001 issue that confirms what you said -- that this program will not back up to CD-Recordable discs. So I'll try the NTI Backup Now. Thanks. Don
