Favorties that I did not add???

I had done some searching in crack sites, and they have popped in then. I also was looking for some personal items for my wife and I and many links to porn sites popped up. I did not want my wife to know that I was looking for these things. They were supposed to be a surprise. After I closed out explorer, places I hadn't even been to were in there. I don't know if they were from the many popups or what.

Are you usuing IE 5.5 or less....if yes then you probably have a variant of the Nimda worm...i had the same problem not so long ago where i had to reformat my hard drives....I would advise to update your virus scan and run a FULL check...afterwards install IE version 6....this should have a patch to increase security with servers running mime software ( not sure about that bit but thats what i read about it )

PS i think its a mix between the melissa virus and the nimda worm...think one of the favourites will be called melissa

Thank you. I'll update and do the check and yes Melissa was one of the favorites. About your rogue web pages, is it lop.com? If you go to the site, go to customer service or FAQ's and it will have a uninstall link to get it off. I've also had these problems and have uninstalled them.

Dont know what site it was, but i got it through clicking on a link regarding mortgages ( believe it or not!!!), next thing i knew my home page was trying to access a dodgy asian porn site, and it wouldnt let me change it ( it had greyed out all the options )..i had to reformat as the virus software was not working ( i think it may have been an early version of the klez worm which is doing the rounds now )
