Unwanted start-ups during boot

When booting my PC (Win98SE), an unwanted application starts up concurrently. This application is not listed in the autoexec.bat file, neither in the Programs -> StartUp folder. Apparently, it is hidden somewhere deep down in the register. How can I find it and remove it? I already did a general word search with regedit, but did not find a clue.

The program that teases me is from Lop.com. A small accessory toolbar appears in the upper corner of my desktop which is a small search engine window.
In the meantime, I got the idea to look on the Lop.com website and indeed: they offer an uninstall program which can be downloaded! So, I think I can solve my problem (not yet done).
While trying to solve my problem, I have found a very nice tool which might also be a nice tip for others to know. It is "Startup Control Panel", which is an applet that allows you to easily configure which programs run when your computer starts. See: http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml

You can find it possibly in one of the two next:
The textfile c:\windows\system.ini, or c:\windows\win.ini
Make a backup of these files first, an then edit these with Notepad.
If you encounter the line "RUN=" remove all next to the "=" sighn.
Otherwise start Regedit.exe
Do a search for RUN.
Check "Keys" ONLY and check "Whole word / Whole Name"
Enter it and see what it comes up with.
Click on the offended item and press Delete.
Press F3 to search fertheron in the registry.
Repeat until the message that the registry search has completed appears.
Close all down and reboot.
