2K safe mode not loading logitech mouse driver

Recent worm fix provided by norton/symantec requires booting to safe mode, but my 2K didn't load my mouse...
I believe i should chase for a more updated driver which is a pain.. is there any other ways to make the mouse work?

My MCSE teacher recommended obtaining new driver !!
I still have to solve another matter which your suggestion and his don't match !

Why would they disable that feature ? i believe a good % of PC still use serial port for mouse..are they cutting corners here ?

Windows 2000 is meant to run on newer computers, and all newer computers use a PS2 or a USB Mouse ... its part of the ATX standard.

I still would have liked to see it handle serial mouse.. w/o a convertor for ps/2..

So would I, but would make do using the keyboard to handle the virus problem. Most anything that can be done with a mouse can be done with a keyboard, albeit less conveniently for many steps. Larry
