Win 98 SE

When using MSconfig, you can turn off programs that you do not want to load on start up, but they are still in the list. Is there a way to clean up the list and remove them so there is no chance that the system can turn them back on?

The only way is to edit your registry, make sure you have a working backup copy before you modify anything. http://www.3dspotlight.com/tweaks/startup/startup-6.shtml

If they are (mostly) old programs, also look for load= and run = lines in the win.ini file with msconfig. Larry
