AOL and IE6 on WIN2K

Greetings all...
I have a problem with AOL version 7, and IE6 using WIN2K, when i connect to the internet via AOL, and then open IE6 i get a prompt stating that IE is offline, carry on or try again, when i click on try again it opens the web site, now i have done the following...
1) changed the settings form never dial a connection, to always dial my default connection
2) changed the lan settings to automatically detect my network settings
3) cleared all the settings in the LAN option.
all this has not worked. Now i have also tried to check the dial uo connection via the network option in the control panel, but when i right click properties nothing happens, or when i even try to connect....
Does anyone have any other suggestions????

I have no answer for this one and can find nothing in the MS Knowledgebase. I'd be sure all of the software is up-to-date. Please let us know if you find the answer. Larry

the only other answer i seem to get from support is the good ol' uninstall / reinstall malarky......looks like i will have to try that....
