I am trying to install windows 98 se on a computer and once i get through with fdisk and formatting the c drive with the system files, by means of starting from the a prompt with this command a: format c:\s i go to the c drive to make sure all the system files i need are there which they are. I then go back to a: and use the cdsetup command. It takes me through the setup screen for the cd files. I reboot the computer as needed and when i restart and try to switch to drive d: (the cd drive) i get the error invalid media type. No matter how many times i fdisk and reformat or do the cdsetup command i continue to get this error. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not sure that i am not missing a step somewhere in here. Look foward to the replys.
Thanks,
Brannon

YOu need to install a Cd-Rom Driver first......... usually a Mitsumi driver seems to be universally useable if you dont know which one to get for your machine!

Usually the default Oak drivr which Microsoft uses will work with almost anything sold since Windows 98 came out, and with most since Windows 95. Larry
