how can i access DOS mode in windows ME without using a startup disk? when i press F8 when loading it does not give me an option of going into DOS prompt. could someone help please? i wouldappreciate it.

Try the next:
click on Start, and click on Execute. Key in and Enter "command" (Without quotes) and see if this opens a real MS-DOS box.
