Intel is making me crazy

I was looking to get a 1 gig p3. I see that the 1.3 gig p4 is now cheaper by $10. I really don't want to switch out motherboards and ram. GRRRRR!!!!
Oh well, hopefully when I do get one I can get it to run @1200

Well I got this motherboard because of the other one dying. I already had the CPU a few months by that time. In hind site, If i know I was going to have to replace both I would have went with an AMD setup.

I will get my P3 1000 today. Guess I will see whether kingmax is any good. If not i will be visiting Mushkin's site.

Seems like P4's require more power and a different kind of power supply connector. Also, isn't the P4 heat sink attached to the case instead of to the motherboard?
I hope AMD sticks with the older ATX standard. Geez, I'm obsolete as it is with my old AT cases.

I don't know, but I heard today that the desktop version of Palomino, the next Athlon, will be named the Athlon 4. The current AMD roadmap shows it appearing in the 3rd quarter this year. Larry

I heard Palamino's will not require a new socket style, so with bios updates todays motherboards will run them.
