ATI announces next generation Radeon video cards

looks like some competition for the GeForce 3.

I don't normally follow these things all that closely, but saw your post earlier today, bumped into the link during one of my news gathering rounds (for that yellow column on the right side of my home page), and thought you would be interested. I did read that yesterday as well as the one @ toms hardware. I also talked with someone that had a card to play with. Seems they are handing several different samples to try, all with different drivers and in some cases, different cards all together.The person I spoke with said it is a little better then a gf3 in overalll performance. Really when you think about it that is a letdown. This is supposed to be a next generation card. With Nvidia having a possible geforce 3 ultra around the corner and a geforce 4 in the spring. ATI really needs a homerun here. Hopefully they will get there act together in the driver department, which is my biggest complaint with the now "classic" radeon.
