THE A-TOP AT900 MID-TOWER
COMPUTER CASE
Last updated: 2/10/2000
The
A-Top AT900-ATG is a good-quality, mid-tower computer case. I call
it a mid-tower because it isn't as tall as a full-tower like the AOpen
HX08 full-tower. It is, however, taller and has more
drive bays than the AOpen
HX45A mid-tower case.
PLASTIC. The AT900
has an attractive front panel. The picture to the right does not do
it justice. In particular, the lower part of the front looks much better
than the picture.
The front panel is fastened to the chassis
with claw-like springs which snap into holes on the front of the metal
chassis. It can be pulled off the case by grabbing it at the air vent
slot between the panel and the chassis under the bottom. (This is great
for quick disassembly, but not so good in some situations where a customer
has forgotten about the feature. The Enlight cases I've seen are/were similar
except the sides are not further secured with screws (truly screwless) like
this one. I stopped selling Enlight cases when my dentist grabbed his
computer at the bottom of the front to remove it from his car to bring into
my shop on a cold Winter day. It came completely apart and fell into
the snow on the parking lot).
Gone are the useless turbo LED and switch
and the keylock--good riddance! The plastic lenses for the HDD, POWER,
and RESET LEDs are in a good location under the 3 1/2" drive bays. The
power switch plunger is to the right of the bays. The LEDs are mounted
on the front metal chassis and won't be pulled loose and wires will not be
broken when the plastic front panel is removed. The 1" square
indentation for the manufacture's label is in a good location about a third
of the way up on the front panel from the bottom. The plastic is fairly
solid stuff.
