I LOVE YOU VIRUS TAKES A DEADLY TWIST
5/19/00

The infamous I Love You Virus has metamorphosized into a more deadly form.  Actually, it is a new virus (worm) called Newlove which works like the I Love You Virus.  However, this virus changes the subject line on each message it sends and changes the name of the file-damaging attachment it sends in each message.  Simple mail filters will no longer work.   Newlove is a high-risk worm. This rotten bug will destroy most of the files on your computer.  That is done by the attachment, which is really a Visual Basic script.  Be leery of E-Mail with FW in the subject line and attachments with vbe and vbs extensions.  The subject and attachment names can look familiar and legitimate because the virus uses the user's most recent document list  to generate them (or uses a random name and extension).
