Bad PC100 Memory
Last updated: 1/28/2001
Q. Enjoyed your article on the EpoX
MVP3G-M motherboard... I cannot get my board to run at 100MHz. When
setting JP5 to 2-3 (SDRAM Clock = CPU Bus Clock), the computer will not
even self-test. If I switch it to 1-2 (2/3 CPU Clock or 66MHz), it works
fine. I have tried two separate 64MB PC100 SDRAM modules, but neither
has corrected the problem...
A. I think you may still have bad memory. It
should be name brand, 8 ns, PC-100 memory.
