Bruce, have you had Windows autodect the hardware again? Or, try the refresh button in the device manager. I am a bit rusty on the 2940, but you may have a port or IRQ conflict with the host adapter--not likely. You may need to rework the config.sys and autoexec.bat for the CD-ROM. Try removing the rem in front of the CD-ROM line in the autoexec.bat. Try removing the IDE hd drivers in Windows and reinstlling them. Is the SCSI CD-ROM driver installed; shouldn't be. This is a hard one to trouble-shoot remotely. Larry
