I have a problem installing Windows 98 on a clean drive. I created a boot disk using the CD following the steps that are posted on this site. I then used fdisk and format to clean the drive. I used the steps posted here to try and install Windows 98 OEM version on the drive. I continually error out before I get to the step of copying Windows files. The most popular error is "SUWIN.EXE has performed an illegal operation." but there has been many. Now I have a blank drive, a boot disk, and a Windows 98 OEM CD. How can I make this work? PS I made the boot disk and didn't write protect it right away. Could the boot disk have a virus on it? Would that cause the problem?
