Sharing drive error-can't retrieve access control list

I am setting up a 2 computer (win 98) network as per instructions here. When I try to share the drives on one computer I get this error: Windows can not retrieve access control list for this resource.

The other computer set up the sharing just fine. But I get this error for any drive on the first computer. How can I fix this?
