Thanks for the research. I yanked all three hard drives out and connected them to a new system. From here I was able to format and install Windows. I put all three back into their 486 homes and still had the same problem. Hence, I believe the drivers for the controller cards were wiped out after I parted the drives. That will teach me to erase an older drive without first making sure I have compatible drivers to install afterwards. What do you think? Thanks again for your time and knowledge. Terry
