I finally got my compy wired up and ready to go, with the help of my school's technology specialist. Ok, now that it starts without burning wires or sending flying death monkeys at people, I am trying to get it to boot up.  It boots normally, little weird splash screen with all the components, then it goes to a completly black screen with a little blinking underscore at the top-left.  I'm guessing the harddrive doesn't wanna work with this mobo and needs reformatting?

This HD is being transferred from the compy I'm on now to the new one with a new mobo. Maybe I'm not connecting something properly? I didn't have the floppy or CD drives in when I turned it on, if that makes a difference?  If you have some input, I'd be truly grateful. Smiley

Are there any beeps or anything while it it attempting to boot?

No errors or anything on the screen?
Can you get into the bios during the first few seconds that the computer is booting?

You can transfert an harddrive from a computer to another with a winn2000 or xp OS because of different ide controller

The is a complexe procedure to get over this but it'S more easier to reinstall windows.

There already been discussion on this board about it, you can try to find it with the search bottom
