Hi,
I am having a major problem with my laptop. I have a copy of Windows XP Pro installed and when I come to the login screen and enter my password, it logs in fine but a couple of seconds later it logs me back out again. I can run Windows in Safe Mode no problem. I also tried a sytem restore but to no avail. Any help or information as to what might be wrong would be gratefully appreciated.
I apologise if this is an obvious problem, I don't know that much about Windows at this level. I have read the Windows XP FAQs and didn't see the answer there. Thank you.  Smiley

I'm not sure I understand this.  Is it prompting you to login a second time?  Is it indicating an error of some sort?  Larry

I enter my password, login, then it loads for a second and then logs back out again, returning to the login screen, that make sense?

is it possible you have password protected your screen saver.  disable your screensaver and see if that works.

The same thing happened to me and I did a Windows XP Repair on my system.  The downfall to the Repair is that you have to go to the Microsoft "Update" website and download all of the updates again.  My problem lies a little deeper though.  My ATI 9700 Pro display adapter is not being recognized by windows so I have a little more to do then just a Repair.  When the problem got worse though, I also called Microsoft since I have free long distance and they fixed the problem right away.  By worse I mean that after the "Windows XP logo" my screen went blank and I could not even get to the logon screen.  So if any of you have a problem like that I have the solution and would be happy to post it for you all.

I am having the same issue with my Windows XP Pro laptop.  I log in, it tries to syncronize my offline files, then the systems closes my network connections and logs me off back to the windows login box.  What did you do to fix?Huh?? Huh
